Utility Locating

For utility route design and construction of new service pipes and sewers, the knowledge of the position and the depth of already existing pipes and utilities is crucial. Strip maps are often missing, inaccurate and insufficient. With the aid of ground penetrating radar, metallic and also non-metallic pipes and utilities can be detected and mapped. In addition references to other buried hazards, obstructions and artefacts can be won, like large rocks, foundations or unexploded ordnance.

Particularly for the construction of pipes and utilities with no dig / trenchless technology, a detailed investigation of the area prior to construction helps to optimize the route design, so that for instance by the use of rinsing drilling procedure no existing pipes will be damaged.
