Construction in regions of low soil cover makes it necessary to know the depth of the solid bedrock. That applies particularly in the case of trenchless utility construction e.g. by jet cutting. GPR is able to detect exactly the depth of the solid bedrock. Thus even small small zones of low soil coverage can be identified, which might stay undetected using traditional drilling survey.
